Water Board meets next week

The Wilsall Water Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at the Shields Valley Senior Center at 208 Elliot Street North (Highway 89) in Wilsall. Wilsall residents are encouraged to return the water district ballots as soon as possible. The deadline for votes to be in is Wednesday, Feb. 10.

Commissioner visit

County Commissioner Clint Tinsley will meet with residents at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at the Old Wilsall Hardware Deli, also known as Val’s, in Wilsall.

Senior Citizens Board

The Shields Valley Senior Citizens Board met Monday morning and welcomed Pam Lucas to the board. Among the medical equipment available for loan, they also have a pair of size 13 women’s diabetic shoes to give to anyone who can use them.

Club news

• Wilsall Wranglers 4-H Club meets at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, at the Wilsall Fire Department.

• The Wilsall Vets Club held their monthly potluck meeting and card party Monday evening at the Shields Valley Senior Center. The Vets would like folks who use the park in Wilsall to clean up after their dogs and themselves when they use the park. The park is used by lots of local and out-of-town people and children use the playground equipment, so the Vets would appreciate help keeping the park clean.

• The Women of Wilsall met Monday evening at the Two Doors Down Coffee Bakery in Clyde Park with Sydney Wiley as hostess. They discussed the Saint Patrick’s Day Dinner, donated money to the school for the Books for Bikes program, and talked about the Livingston Park County Library Bookmobile drop box and pickup holding shelf that have been installed at the Little Museum, also know as the Norwegian Embassy, at the corner of Lewis and Elliot Streets in Wilsall. These are for those who cannot get to the bookmobile on Tuesdays.

Church news

• Shields River Lutheran Women’s monthly Bible Study meets at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the church in Wilsall.

• The Women of Shields River Lutheran Church met Jan. 28 at the church in Wilsall. They discussed the January quilting and spring church activities.

Memorial

A recent memorial give to the Wilsall Cemetery Fund was for Irene Payne from Carol Woodley.

Cards

Winners of the Feb. 2 Senior Citizens card party were Betty Burdette, first; Jean Landers, second; Georgia Hogenson, traveling; and Jean Skillman, low.

School schedule

Spectator attendance for all sports will be limited and masks and social distancing among family groups will be required. Check the school website for more information.

• Feb. 4: The high school basketball teams start playing against Lima at 5:30 p.m. with boys varsity in Clyde Park. The elementary and junior high boys basketball teams start playing at 4 p.m. in White Sulphur Springs.

• Feb. 5: FFA District competitions are in Gardiner.

• Feb. 6: The junior high boys basketball teams play at 9 a.m. at the Sleeping Giant Middle School in Livingston. The high school basketball teams start playing with junior varsity boys 1 p.m. in Twin Bridges.

• Feb. 8: The high school junior varsity girls play at 4:15 p.m. against Ennis in Clyde Park.
