Virgil Reynolds

Virgil Reynolds, 80, of Melvin,  Texas, went to his eternal home on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, in San Angelo. A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at Virgil’s home located at 201 E. Pecan, Melvin, Tx 76858.

Virgil was born on Aug. 7, 1937 to his parents Valen Charles Reynolds and Nellie Lora (Skillman) Reynolds in Livingston. Once he graduated from high school, he joined the National Guard to serve his country.       

 After serving his country he went to work for the railroad for 43 years. On May 3, 1986, he married his beloved wife, Linda Van Wechel, in Alliance Nebraska. They lived in Nebraska for 14 years before moving to Melvin, where they have lived for the past 17 years.

Virgil was proud to have been born and raised in Livingston. He enjoyed hunting in Nebraska every year that he could. He was a ski patrol officer in Big Sky for several years. He was a proud member of the United Methodist Church in Melvin as well.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Reynolds of Melvin; son, Chad Reynolds and wife, Kasey, of Ventura, California; daughter, Stacy Reynolds of Chandler, Arizona; stepdaughter, Stephanie Farley and husband, David, of Studio City, California; brother, Vernon Reynolds of Radcliff, Kentucky; sister Velva Black of Billings. Also surviving are six grandchildren; one great grandchild; nieces and one nephew.

Preceding Virgil in death are his parents, Valen Charles Reynolds and Nellie Lora Skillman; and one sister, Dorothy Fletcher.

Family requests donations to be made in Virgil’s name to the Melvin Fire Department.
