The Tobacco Use Prevention Education’s billboard artwork contest, with artwork created by Sleeping Giant Middle School eighth-graders, is on display until May 5 at the Livingston Center for Art and Culture. The billboards illustrate the slogan “Be Your Best! Be Tobacco Free!” For more information, call LCAC at 222-5222.

 

The Livingston Friends of the Library Spring book sale will be held Wednesday, May 4 through Saturday, May 7 at the Livingston-Park County Public Library. Wednesday is for members only and will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Then, Thursday through Saturday will be open to the public, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturday, with a bag sale noon-2 p.m. All proceeds benefit the library. • The Livingston Food Resource Center will host a free family dinner night at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays, May 4, May 18, June 1, June 15 and June 29 at the center. Meals will be prepared by local chefs and LFRC staff. Sign up by calling LFRC 222-5335 or visiting the center located at 202 S. Second St. 

 

The Sister City Mother of All Garage Sales will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 6, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, and 10 a.m.-noon Sunday, May 8 at the Park County Fairgrounds. The 2016 Park County Weed Fair will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 10 at the Park County Fairgrounds. Topics include biology, ecology and integrated management of cheatgrass, as well as the benefits of using surfactants. The American Legion Club’s monthly meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 10 at the legion. Dinner will be provided for members. For more information, call the legion at 222-1052. 

 

The Yellowstone Gateway Museum’s final Spring Speaker Series program, “Resilience: Stories of Montana Indian Women,” by Laura Ferguson will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 12 at the Livingston-Park County Public Library, 228 W.
