• The community is invited to an Ice Cream Social and Fundraiser, Wednesday, Oct. 5 to benefit Livingston Fire and Rescue. This free event will give people an opportunity to meet Ken MacInnes, the new fire chief, and to learn about the department’s need for an equipment upgrade. • The Carnegie Readers will meet Thursday, Oct. 6 to talk about “The Man of Property,” by John Galsworthy. The book group, which welcomes new participants, will gather at 5 p.m. in the Steveson room of the Livingston-Park County Public Library. Multiple copies of the book are available for checkout out at the library. Looking ahead, Carnegie Readers’ pick for November is “Jimmy Bluefeather,” by Kim Heacox. • Yellowstone Bend Citizens Council (YBCC) Annual Celebration, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday Oct. 6, at the Shane Lalani Center of the Arts, 415 E. Lewis St. The council will show “Green Fire,” a film on the life and legacy of the iconic environmentalist Aldo Leopold.  Mingle with friends and neighbors, enjoy refreshments and view the one-hour film. A brief optional membership meeting will follow. • The Park County Transportation Advisory Committee is conducting a survey on the possibility of bringing free or low-cost bus service to the area. Survey forms are available at Livingston HealthCare, City-County Complex, PrintingForLess, Livingston-Park County Public Library, Albertsons, Town & Country Foods, Community Health Partners, Park County Senior Center, Western Drug, Shopko, ACE Hardware, Livingston Food Resource Center and the Livingston Job Service. Surveys may be returned to drop boxes at the above locations. The committee encourages all residents to fill out a survey. Survey forms will be available through Sept. 30 and collected by Oct. 1.
