The festival, which will be held Aug. 4-6, is looking for poster and T-shirt designs as well as entries for the community arts showcase, according to a SPF news release.

The festival’s eighth annual T-shirt art and poster art contest could earn two winners $1,000 and is open to all experience levels.

Two winners will be selected from two categories, one from ages 5 to 13 and the other, 14 and older. Each winning design will be used for this year’s Sweet Pea T-shirts.

Entries will be accepted either by mail or hand-delivered to the Sweet Pea Office, 424 E. Main St, Suite 203B, Bozeman, MT, 59715, and must arrive by Friday, April 28, according to the release

The Sweet Pea Board of Directors will notify the artists with winning designs and announce the winners on its website.

The festival is also looking for artists for the art showcase to be held from July 14 to Sept. 1 at the Emerson Center for Arts & Culture.

“This exhibit will highlight and give recognition to great artists from our region who have supported Sweet Pea and the Emerson for decades,” the release stated.

Artists should submit one or two digital images for each entry, and these digital images need to be in JPEG, GIF or TIF format and at least 1 MB in size but not to exceed 2MB. Name the files with the artist name, title and size. Entry fees are $25 for one entry, $40 for two entries, with checks made payable to the Emerson. Selected works will hang in the Jessie Wilber or Lobby Galleries at the curator’s discretion.

The first-place winner will receive $500, second place will receive $250 and third place will receive $125. The deadline for submission is Friday, June 2 and artists will be notified by June 9, according to the release.
