Some ‘sobering’ facts to consider this 4th of July

As we all know, July 2, 3 & 4 are a very busy time in Livingston.  I would like to encourage all of our friends, family and community to be safe during this 4th of July.  Here are some “sobering” facts to consider when making those high risk choices.

Each year, dozens of lives are shattered on Montana’s roads because people don’t plan a sober ride home from the bar, restaurant, ball game or party. It’s something that we as a state simply can’t tolerate. Look at the toll in the last 10 years, alone:

1,195: Total number of people killed in vehicle crashes where DUI was involved.

300: Total number of 18- to 25-year-olds who died in vehicle crashes caused by intoxicated drivers. And that doesn’t include the hundreds of family members and friends also impacted by the loss. Help us reach zero deaths on Montana Roads. Always plan a sober ride. And always buckle up.
