Shields Valley prepares for Fourth of July holiday

The Shields Valley United Methodist Church has a new pastor, Glenn Woodson, and will be meeting at a new time, 5 p.m., starting Sunday, July 2.

The Shields Valley Clinic will be closed Tuesday, July 4, through Thursday, July 6, and will reopen Monday, July 10. Anyone needing medical assistance may proceed to the Livingston Healthcare or call them at 222-3541.

More winners at Glenn’s Shopping Center’s one year celebration are Coke-a-Cola duffle bag, Jean Skillman; and Glenn’s Shopping Center cap, Phallon Arthun. Tim Barnes won the  $25 beef for Father’s Day gift certificate.

There is no Farmers Market July 3 in Clyde Park but it will back at Holliday Park on July 10.

Club news
Marie Keep and Jean Skillman joined Debbie Benedict, Lynn Humiston, Delva Rae Blanchard, Nancy Manger and Jacque Snedigar of the Castle Mountain Red Hats from White Sulphur Springs for lunch at the Vault Restaurant Thursday.

Births
Anglynn Burton, 6 pounds and 19 inches, was born June 24 to Charmaine and Jarod Burton of Laurel. Her paternal grandfather is Melvin Goffena and her paternal great-grandmother is Erma Goffena.

• The Clyde Park Bridge Club met June 21 at the Clyde Park Tavern and Cafe with Sharon Jones as hostess. Prize winners were Bob Eyman, high; and  Therese King, bingo.

• Wilsall Women’s Pinochle Club met Monday afternoon at the Shields Valley Senior Center. Prize winners were Marie Smith, high; Rosie Queen, low; and Georgia Hogenson, traveling.

• Winners of the June 27 Senior Citizens card party were Marie Smith, first; Georgia Hogenson, second; and Dorothy Lucas, low. There will be no Senior Citizens card party on July 4.
