FROG dance set for Thursday

A FROG (father, relative, other guy) dance will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at the Clyde Park Community Center. It is open to all girls kindergarten through eighth grade. Donations are welcome. It is sponsored by the Girls Scouts Leaders of Shield Valley.

 

Books for Bikes

In the Books for Bikes awards assembly for Shields Valley Elementary students, bikes and books will be given away Tuesday, Feb. 18. 

Students read books to earn certificates for free books and a chance to win a bicycle. The books and bikes will be given at two assemblies in the Wilsall gym. Kindergarten through third grade assembly is at 9 a.m. and fourth through sixth grade at 10:30 a.m.

This event is sponsored by the Masonic Lodge of Wilsall and the Women of Wilsall.

 

Senior potluck

The Shields Valley Senior Citizens potluck dinner starts at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Senior Center in Wilsall. Jenny Jo Allen from ASPEN will tell about their services. 

There may also be some bingo playing.

 

Club news

The Shields Valley Book Club meets at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at Shields River Lutheran Church in Wilsall. The book being discussed this month is “To the Bright Edge of the World” by Eowyn Ivey.

 

Cards

• The Clyde Park Bridge Club met Jan. 15 at Clyde Park Tavern and Cafe with Shirley Wilson as hostess. Prize winners were Loraine Eyman, high; and Sharon Jones, bingo.

• Wilsall Women’s Pinochle Club met Monday afternoon at the Shields Valley Senior Center. Prize winners were Betty Burdette, high; Jean Landers, low; and Linda Wilson, traveling.

 

School schedule

• Feb. 13: The elementary and junior high boys basketball teams play Gardiner starting at 4:30 p.m. in Clyde Park.

• Feb. 14: The high school basketball teams play White Sulphur Springs starting at 4 p.m. with the boys junior varsity. It is Senior Night and there is no girls varsity game.

• Feb. 20-22: The District Basketball Tournament will be at Manhattan Christian.
