Annual Farm Bureau meeting and dinner set for Sept. 20

The annual Park County Farm Bureau meeting and prime rib dinner is at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at the Clyde Park Community Hall.

Laura Nelson will speak on the history of Farm Bureau as it celebrates its 100 year anniversary this year.

Others attending will be Farm Bureau State President Hans McPhearson, and Legislators John Esp and Alan Redfield,

The cost is $10 for voting members and $20 for all others.

Reservations should be made by Sept. 15 by calling Norris Phelan at 222-9346.

Woodworking Guild

The Northern Rockies Woodworking Guild of Bozeman will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the pavilion in Holliday Park in Clyde Park for a picnic. Visitors are welcome to come and see their work on display.

Watershed Group

The Shields Valley Watershed Group meets at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at the Wilsall Fire Department. Roger and Betsy Indreland from Indreland Angus Ranch will talk about their approach to soil health on the ranch.

The regular watershed business meeting will start after the presentation with committee, coordinator and agency updates.

Grandparents Day

Grandparents Day at the Shields Valley Elementary School is from 9 a.m. through lunch Thursday, Sept. 26. Anyone wanting to eat lunch with their grandchild should make reservations by calling Sammy at 578-2535.

Senior potluck

The Shields Valley Senior Citizens potluck dinner starts at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the senior center in Wilsall. There will bingo playing.

Church news

Jerry Holm, a missionary in British Columbia, Canada, will be the guest speaker at the 10:45 morning worship service Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Wilsall Community Church.

Club news

• The Shields Valley Book Club meets at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at Shields River Lutheran church in Wilsall. The book being discussed this month is “Radium Girls” by Kate Moore.

• The Clyde Park Women’s club announced the winners of their raffle and thank all who took part. The winners and what they won are: Clark Wheeler, the camp table; Leslie Ferrendelli, solar lights; and Cathy Dowdell, solar planter.

Cards

• Winners of the Sept. 3 Senior Citizens card party were Marie Smith, first; Georgia Hogenson, second; Betty Burdette, low; and Jean Landers, traveling.

• The Clyde Park Bridge Club met Sept. 4 at Clyde Park Tavern and Cafe with Joyce Sarrazin as hostess. Prize winners were Bob Eyman, high; and Shirley Wilson, bingo.

• Wilsall Women’s Pinochle Club met Monday afternoon at the Shields Valley Senior Center. Prize winners were Betty Burdette, high; Mary Sarver, low; and Georgia Hogenson, traveling.

• Winners of the Sept. 10 Senior Citizens card party were Jean Landers, first; Marie Smith, second; and Jean Skillman, low.

School schedule

• Sept. 11: The school board meets tonight at 7:30 at the Wilsall school multipurpose room.

• Sept. 12: The high school volleyball teams start playing with the junior varsity at 5 p.m. at Manhattan Christian. The junior high volleyball teams start playing at 4 p.m. in the Livingston Sleeping Giant Middle School.

• Sept. 13: The high school football team plays at Hot Springs at 7 p.m.

• Sept. 14: The high school volleyball teams start playing with the junior varsity at 4 p.m. in Clyde Park against Sheridan. The junior high volleyball teams play in the Big Timber Tournament. The junior high football team plays Gardiner in Wilsall at 7 p.m.

• Sept. 17: The junior high volleyball team plays Big Timber starting at 3:30 p.m. in Clyde Park. The high school varsity volleyball team plays Harrison/Willow Creek at 5:30 p.m. in Clyde Park.

• Sept. 19: The Homecoming Parade is at 2:15 p.m. in Clyde Park.
