Commissioner visit

County Commissioner Clint Tinsley will be in Shields Valley Friday, June 7. From 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. he will be at Old Wilsall Hardware Deli, also known as Val’s, and from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. he will be at the Town Hall in Clyde Park.


Darrell and Arlene Gee celebrate 50 years of marriage from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the Community Hall in Clyde Park.

Mothers of Preschoolers

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) of Park County is holding a fund raiser garage sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the Civic Center in Livingston. Build a Better Wilsall

Build a Better Wilsall Foundation will meet Monday, June 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the Shields Valley Senior Center.

Watershed group

Shields Valley Watershed Group will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, June 10, at the Wilsall Fire Hall. Agenda items include Arne Wick, DNRC with a Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Compact update, Kara McCarver, DNRC with a Shields Adjudication update, Coordinator Updates, Committee Updates, and Agency Updates.

100th birthday

The family of Gordon Smith invites friends to join them for lunch and birthday cake from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 16, at the Wilsall Community Church fellowship hall to greet Gordon and help him celebrate his 100th birthday. No gifts, please.

School news

The regular meeting of the Shields Valley School Board will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June, 19, at the Wilsall school.

Church news

• Ed Nollmeyer of Wilsall will be the guest speaker at the 10:45 morning worship service Sunday, June 9, at the Wilsall Community Church.

• All four Park County United Methodist Churches- Shields Valley, Pine Creek, Grace and Holbrook- will meet at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 9, at Pine Creek United Methodist Church. A potluck lunch will follow the service to honor Rev. Dave Greep and his wife Denise.

Women of Wilsall

The Women of Wilsall (WOW) met Monday evening at the home of Sidney Wiley. They finalized the rodeo weekend concession and parade responsibilities. The parade theme is “Looking Back in Time.” Businesses, individuals and groups are invited to put something in the parade.

Club news

• Shields River Lutheran Ladies Aid met Thursday at the home of Cheryl Robinson. They discussed the Aug. 4 100 year celebration of the church.

• The Wilsall Vets Club and Auxiliary held their monthly potluck dinner meeting and card party Monday evening at the Shields Valley Senior Center. They thank all who came out to help put up and take down the flags at the cemetery.

• The Wilsall Wranglers 4-H Club put up a “We Love Our Critters” bale display Thursday depicting a sheep, pig and chicken. It is at the north end of Wilsall where Shields River Road meets US Highway 89.
