Fire Dept. plans Halloween party

The Wilsall Fire Department is planning a Halloween party from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the fire hall.

Hot dogs, hamburgers, brats and more will be served. There will be games and goodies galore, plus education about fire prevention and safety. Stop for some Halloween family fun.

There is no charge for this event, but your donations would be greatly appreciated and will benefit the Wilsall Fire Department.

Costume parade

The Shields Valley kindergarten through sixth grade Halloween costume parade is at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the Wilsall school gym.

Church news

• Stephen Fanning of Bozeman will be the guest speaker at the 10:45 morning worship service Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Wilsall Community Church.

• Awana/Bible Club, a nondenominational program for children ages 3 years through sixth grade, meets from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday at the Community Hall in Clyde Park throughout the school year. The theme for the Oct. 31 meeting is Bible character night. Come dressed as a Bible character and look for a “trunk and treat” fun time, as treats will be served out of the trunks of cars. Door prize winners

Door prize winners at the Shields Valley Senior Citizen Flea Market Saturday were Jean Chapman, Jane Gardner, Betty Burdette, Cal Sarver, Gladys Taylor, Marie Keep and Norma Lindseth.

Club news

The Brackett Creek Women’s Club met Oct. 17 at the home of Kay Hays with 10 members present. They discussed Haven, their Christmas project and the hats and gloves project for the Shields Valley Elementary School. The election of officers put everyone back in for another year. They collected canceled stamps, card fronts and box tops. D’Neal Parker gave a program on vacationing in Peru. The members created pumpkins as a craft after the meeting and refreshments were served. That evening the club members provided the dinner for the Bridger Canyon Fire Department.

The Nov. 14 meeting will be at the home of Judy Watson. Members are to bring canned goods of the MSU/UM competition for the food bank.

• The Clyde Park Women’s Club met Oct. 22 at Holliday Park with Becky Amunrud as hostess. They discussed the need to replace strands of Christmas lights due to vandalism in the Holliday Park. The Nov. 27 meeting will be at the home of Rosie Queen.


• The Clyde Park Bridge Club met Oct. 3817 at Clyde Park Tavern and Cafe. with Bob Eyman as host. Prize winners were David Depuy, high; and Sharon Jones, bingo.

• Wilsall Women’s Pinochle Club met Monday afternoon at the Shields Valley Senior Center. Prize winners were Linda Wilson, high; Georgia Hogenson, low; and Betty Burdette, traveling.

• Winners of the Oct. 23 Senior Citizens card party were Marge Briggs, first; Georgia Hogenson, second; and Patti Vennes, low.

School schedule

• Oct. 24-26: The District Volleyball Tournament is at Manhattan Christian.

• Oct. 27: The first round of state football playoffs will find the Rebels at Wibaux for a 1 p.m. game.

• Oct. 31: The costume parade at the Wilsall gym is at 3 p.m.
