Farmer’s market set for Monday

The Shields Valley Farmer’s Market starts at 4:30 p.m. Monday, at Holliday Park in Clyde Park. This week is an open invitation to all area musicians to participate in Open Mic Night. Contact Linda Hausler at 406-223-0649 to participate.

Faith of Crazy Mountain Catering will be selling locally sourced sausage, hot dogs, kale Caesar salad and nachos. Patty will be there with her desserts.

Since this is the first day of school in Shields Valley this will be a special family day at the market. There will be lawn games for kids of all ages with prizes.

And as always, there are a variety of vendors that offer everything from handmade purses to health and beauty products, home canning, crafts and produce. Jane from the Clyde Park Mercantile will be there with really cute earrings and other goodies from her store. The vendors change weekly, so come and check it out.

James Carlson of Bozeman will be the guest speaker at the l0:45 morning worship service Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Wilsall Community Church.

The Shields Valley Senior Citizens potluck dinner starts at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at the senior center in Wilsall. There will be special music and readings.

The Shields Valley Book Club meets at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, at the home of Pearl D’Ewart northwest of Wilsall. The book being discussed this month is “The Great Alone” by Kristin Hannah.

A blood draw will take place from 1:45 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the Wilsall Fire Station. For more information or to make an appointment call Desiree at 578-5105.

A craft group meets at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Shields Valley Senior Center in Wilsall.

Old Settlers Days are coming to Clyde Park Aug. 25 and 26. The Rosebud Revival Singers will again be at the Old Settler Days Annual Sunday Church Service at 10 a.m. on the patio at the Clyde Park Community Center on Sunday, Aug. 26. The nationally known group of Rosebud County ranchers are returning for a second appearance. Bring your lawn chair and your friends. Contact secretary Lois Olmstead at 220-3197 for information

Also on Sunday will be the Old Settlers Days potluck at noon honoring Grand Marshals Everrett Bailey and Gerry Isbell. Parade winners and other awards will be announced along with the Rubber Duck Race which is held at noon. This is the 43rd Annual Old Settlers Days.

A bridal shower for Hannah George will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Wilsall Community Church.


Wilsall Women’s Pinochle Club met Monday afternoon at the Clyde Park Tavern and Cafe. Prize winners were Linda Wilson, high; Mary Sarver, low; and Marie Smith, traveling.

Winners of the Aug. 14 Senior Citizens card party were Linda Wilson, first; Betty Burdette, second; Patti Vennes, low; and Jean Landers, traveling.

School Schedule

Aug. 20: This is the first day of school for all Shields Valley students.
