Shields Valley gets first win over Roberts

The Shields Valley Rebels boys basketball team edged out Roberts, 48-47, Thursday for its first win of the season and ending a four-game losing streak. 
The Rebels kept it close in the first half, going into halftime down 21-20. The offense came alive in the third quarter with a 16-point showing, with senior Hunter Greenfield notching six. Roberts put up 15 in the fourth quarter, but Shields Valley kept pace to clinch win number one for the 2017 season. 
Greenfield finished with 18 points on seven made field goals while going 4-of-6 from the free throw line. Aidan Jenkins and Arik Ayers were also in double figures, scoring 12 and 10 points, respectively. Robert’s Alex Kosel’s 26-point performance led all scorers, while Gus Dines added 10. 
Shields Valley looks to keep it rolling with a game today against Lone Peak.
