Shields to host fundraiser for community center

The High Country Cowboys will be performing at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Shields Valley Community Center. Dessert and coffee will be served after the concert. A free will donation will be accepted for the event. This is a fundraiser for the community center to help with maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds.
The Shields Valley Community Hall Association, Inc. was organized as a 501(c)4 in 1992. It was changed to the Shields Valley Community Center, Inc. with a 501(c)3 status June 26, 2014. It owns and maintains a facility on five city lots in Clyde Park. The facility is used for health fairs, community and civic meetings, serves as the Park County polling place for elections, receptions following funerals, family reunions, AWANA (a non-denominational program for children held weekly during the school year), Old Settlers Days activities and many more activities. Some activities are free and some require a rental fee. As a 501(c)3 they are able to pursue grants and are expected to hold fund raisers in addition to rent and grants. Board members are Jimbo Logan, president; Cindy Good. vice president; Betty Fitzpatrick, secretary; Patricia Arnold, treasurer and Barbara Doty, board member. • County Commissioner Clint Tinsley will be in Shields Valley Friday, Nov. 3. From 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. he will be at Crazy Mountain Momma’s in the old Wilsall Bar and Cafe building and from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. he will be at the Town Hall in Clyde Park  
• Shields River Lutheran Women’s monthly Bible Study meets at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the church in Wilsall.
• A Harvest Dinner is planned for 11:45 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at the Wilsall Community Church.
• The Shields Valley School Board meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the Wilsall school multipurpose room.
• The senior citizens holiday dinners at the Shields Valley Schools are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, in Clyde Park and 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, in Wilsall. To make reservations call Anita Crane at 696-4621 in Clyde Park or Angela Duncan at 578-2535 in Wilsall.

• Nov. 2: The elementary and junior high boys basketball teams play Big Timber starting at 4:15 p.m. in Clyde Park.
• Nov. 4: The junior high boys basketball Shields Valley Tournament starts at 9 a.m. in Clyde Park.
• Nov. 7: The Senior  Citizen dinner is at 12:30 p.m. in Clyde Park. The junior high and high school fall sports awards banquet is at 6 p.m. in Clyde Park.
• Nov. 13: The winter sports  high school parent/athlete meeting is at 6:30 p.m. in Clyde Park.
