The search for a missing 15-year-old Paradise Valley boy ended tragically Thursday evening when he was found deceased several miles from where he was last seen, according to Park County Sheriff Brad Bichler.

“It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this update,” Bichler posted on Facebook Thursday evening. “At around 4 p.m. this afternoon searchers found Res Windham deceased several miles from where he was last seen.”

Bichler said the two-day search included deputies with the Park County Sheriff’s Office, Park County Search and Rescue, more than 150 community volunteers, dog and horse teams, and air resources.

The announcement comes after a large group of volunteers turned out Thursday morning to search for Windham.

The sheriff thanked those who helped in the search effort.

“I would like to personally thank all of you for the help and support and all of the community members that helped in so many ways,” Bichler posted on Facebook. “Please join me in keeping the family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time."
