The Livingston School District Board has scheduled a special meeting Monday to discuss the 2020-2021 school year and reopening considerations. Livingston schools ended the 2019-2020 school year with distance learning after all schools in Montana were closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The board is scheduled to vote whether to declare an “unforeseen emergency” for the upcoming school year, and whether to allow district staff to make determinations regarding student proficiency without regard to number of hours of instruction provided. The board is also scheduled to discuss offsite instruction for the beginning of the year, and is scheduled to vote whether to grant the district administration the authority to provide instruction in “any method or methods approved by the superintendent, including but not limited to offsite instruction” for students this school year.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the Park High School library, with masks mandatory and attendees limited. Interested parties will be able to attend via Zoom.
