Retiring firefighter

Retiring Livingston Fire and Rescue Captain Patrick Walker shares a laugh with City Manager Michael Kardoes at the Livingston City Commission meeting Tuesday. Walker was honored at the meeting with praise from Chief Ken MacInnes and a round of applause from the commissioners and meeting attendees.  Walker, in his 23 years with the department, was recognized for two outstanding achievements. In 2016, he pulled an elderly resident from a house fire and in 2015 saved a fellow firefighter who was caught in a partial building collapse inside a burning home. “It doesn’t happen often to be able to do (these type of rescues), and for one person to do both is pretty rare,” MacInnes said Friday. Walker’s last day on duty is Saturday, May 6. (Enterprise photo by Liz Kearney)
