Two remaining over-theair television channels broadcast in Park County that had been down for months are now back up.

PBS (with channels 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 9.4 and 9.5) along with ABC’s Channel 6 (with channels 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3) rejoin the rest of the overthe-air lineup already available.

To acquire the channels, viewers should rescan their TV sets.

The delay in getting PBS and ABC back up was due to a combination of licensing issues, the government shutdown and the bad weather the area has experienced recently, according to William Burckhard, the broadcast engineer contracted by Park County to maintain the local TV translators that carry the signals.

Late last year, most overthe-air signals were closed down after the federal government sold the frequencies to T-Mobile, which is using them to improve its cell phone coverage in the area.

The frequencies were subsequently reconfigured and signal restored in December except for PBS and Channel 6, which are now back up. All over-the-air channel numbers remain the same as before the work last year.
