Ranger softball team stays alive in state tournament

The Park Rangers extended their stay in the Class A state softball tournament and exacted a little revenge by beating Laurel by a score of 11-10 early Friday afternoon.

Laurel beat Park in the first round of last year's state tournament, and the Rangers got their payback by knocking Laurel out of this year's tourney, being held this weekend in Polson.

The win kept Park's season alive, but they had a quick turnaround since the win meant they were back on the field at 3 p.m. today against Butte Central.

Should the Rangers win again, they will play for the third time on Friday at 5 p.m. A loss in either game spells the end of their season.

See Monday's Enterprise for final tournament results.
