Our first responders should get a cut of bed taxes

Interesting article on local vacation rentals in the July 31 edition of The Livingston Enterprise.

I suppose it is nice to see some incremental tax revenues come in for local image marketing, but as a full-time resident, I look forward to when they all return to wherever they normally live. And why would the university system get some of the tax revenue and our first responders not get any at all? Since a lot of our multi-car, multi-injury vehicle accidents seem to involve at least one out of state vehicle with multiple occupants, it seems our first responders should be in the bed tax distribution for these annoying neighborhood short-term rentals.

Who makes these decisions?
