A COVID-19 outbreak at Livingston Health and Rehabilitation center led to four hospitalizations and the death that had previously been reported Sunday, according to the Park County Health Department.

The first COVID-19 case was discovered at the center Jan. 28, a Health Department press release said, and since then 23 residents and staff members have tested positive for the virus, including three new cases Wednesday.

According to the release, about 80% of the center’s residents have received at least their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and several staff members are also in the process of being vaccinated.

A man in his 80s affiliated with the center died Saturday from the virus, and four people have been hospitalized due to COVID-19, according to the release.

The center is owned and operated by EmpRes Healthcare Management, the release said, which owns eight other skilled nursing facilities in Montana.

According to the release, the center is working with the Health Department and the Montana Department of Health and Human Services to control the outbreak.
