New owners redesign local consignment store

Bob N’ Lu’s Second Hand and Consignment recently welcomed new owners to the store.

Joe and Cassandra Weisgerber took over the store in downtown Livingston after the previous owners sold it a month ago.

Cassandra Weisgerber said the owners had asked her if she wanted it, and she ended up working at the store for two and half weeks before taking it over full time.

As the new owner, Weisgerber has changed the layout of the store to make more room for new items such as artwork, collectibles, a seasonal area and a kids’ section.

She also added new carpet and updated the garage and basement.

Before owning the store, Weisgerber was running a charity out of her home called 3S Gives, which provides free diapers for infants in Livingston. The charity will now run out of Bob and Lu’s along with any other charities she might want to include in the future, Weisgerber said.

While she mans the store, Cassandra said her husband, Joe Weisgerber, will be cleaning the 2,000-square-foot storage area in the basement.

“I want this to be a big family venture,” she said.

Other new things at the store include a place to go trick-or-treating on Oct. 29 preceding Halloween. Also, Santa will be at the store before Christmas.

The business is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
