New owners for Glenn’s Shopping Center

David Papadopoulos and Sydney Wiley, also known as “Mr. and Mrs. P,” have purchased Glenn’s Shopping Center in Clyde Park and have taken over as previous owner Brad Berendts retires.

The couple moved to Shields Valley about a year ago from the Chicago area. Sydney, who grew up in Longsdale, Minnesota, a rural farming area, laughed that she “was in Chicago by marriage, not by choice.”

David’s work experience is in information technology. Sydney has worked in small stores, most recently in Glenn’s Market in Clyde Park.

The pair said they are glad to be away from the Chicago area and closer to Sydney’s mother, Katie Kopplow, who worked many years at the fuel desk at the Yellowstone Truck Stop in Livingston.

When the opportunity to buy Glenn’s Shopping Center came up, they took it.

“We fell in love with the valley and the people and are determined to carry on the legacy of the store, which has been there since 1920,” Sydney said.

They were able to keep the Associated Food Store membership, a co-op of independent small stores based in Salt Lake City that allows competitive prices. Their corporate name is Two Peas Mercantile, LLC, doing business in Clyde Park as Glenn’s Market.

The store hours are still from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week. The couple is also updating the Facebook page for Glenn’s Shopping Center.

For more information, call Glenn’s at 686-4421.
