Mildred Nancy (Logan) Carter

Mildred Nancy (Logan) Carter, 83, of Pine Creek, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, at her home.

Mildred was born July 14, 1930, the daughter of Charles and Norma Logan. When Mildred was 7 years old, her mother died, and she went to live with Floyd and Mildred Nelson of Paradise Valley. She attended Pine Creek School and graduated from Park County High School. 

In 1949, she married Albert Carter and they had two sons, Allen and Gary. Albert died in 1953. In 1956, Mildred married Howard Carter.

Mildred had a full life and was very involved in all aspects of the family ranch in Paradise Valley. She was known for her cooking, gardening and homemaking skills. She enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans and other gifts for family and friends. She had a deep love for God and cherished her family.

She is survived by her sons Allen and his wife, Babe Durgan, of Pine Creek, and Gary and his wife, Coralie Askin, of Gallatin Gateway; three grandchildren, Gene (Anita) Carter of Pine Creek, Taralie (Jason) Ballard of Edgewood, N.M., and Andy (Lezah) Carter of Stanfield, Ariz.; and six great-grandchildren, Brandt and Riley Carter, Lauren and Brynn Ballard and Colton and Tanner Carter.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands, Albert Carter and Howard Carter and numerous brothers and sisters.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 30, at Holbrook United Methodist Church, corner of West Lewis and South Fifth streets, with Pastor Harlan Durgan of Living Hope Church officiating. A reception will follow the funeral at Holbrook Hall. Graveside committal and burial at Shorthill Cemetery will follow the reception. If so desired, memorials may be directed to Living Hope Church in remembrance of Mildred.
