It behooves us to be patient
Editor:
In response to Jay Kiefer’s recent letter, I understand the concern about the local economy, but if you have not been in any of the hotspots you simply cannot understand how frightening and devastating this pandemic is.
I was in New Orleans when it blew up there and went from no cases to multiple deaths overnight, and if we open up prematurely it can happen here. We here in Livingston live too close to Bozeman to be messing around with this.
Until we know that cases are actually decreasing, until the state has the ability to test every person with symptoms and track their contacts, it behooves us to be patient. Yes, I personally know numerous people who are hurting financially, but they and their family members aren’t desperately ill or dying.
