Locals helped turn difficult week into positive experience

Thank you to the many in Livingston who helped us in so many ways after our accident on June 18 (front page of the June 19 edition of The Enterprise).

A collision forced us off the road and rolled over while towing our Airstream travel trailer. Both the truck and trailer were totaled, but our seatbelts prevented serious injury. Many people who were just passing through stopped to help and kept us safe while waiting for the ambulance.

The ambulance crew to Livingston HealthCare with EMT Josh were on top of things, the Emergency Room at the hospital, nurses and X-ray techs were all kind but efficient. When we needed a ride to Bozeman to rent a car, no cabs were available, but Leia Angus at the hospital registration desk, offered us a ride.

Ken, Amy, Jeff and the crew at Whistler Towing all went out of their way to help us salvage as much as possible. Jennifer at the EconoLodge was so helpful, even doing a load of laundry for us. Stephanie and her Mom at Homemade Kitchen greeted us with happy faces, no matter how many times we went back. The guys at U-Haul were understanding and helpful. The ladies at Pura Vida Hair Salon even gave me a free haircut after explaining why we were in town.

These and more turned a difficult week into a positive experience. We are back on the road now in a new truck and trailer headed to a family gathering in The Calgary/Banff area. We will always remember fondly the decent and kind people of Livingston and how they gladly helped a couple from Florida in need. We’ll be back to Montana someday, when we have time to enjoy all it offers.
