LOG BOOK — Oct. 28-Nov. 3

The following is a selection of calls made to the Livingston Police Department and Park County Sheriff’s Office within the last week. 


Oct. 28

• 11:52 a.m. — A Interstate 90 driver reported a car was smoking, and was off the road and in the grass by Exit 330. Deputies arrived on scene and arrested the driver for driving while his driver’s license was suspended or revoked. The car was towed. 

• 3 p.m. — A Livingston caller reported some fraudulent charges were charged on their debit card. The unauthorized charges were a misdemeanor amount, which is under $1,500. The PCSO is investigating. 

• 5:42 p.m. — A Livingston caller reported a “very, very real bad smell of marijuana” coming from an apartment. An officer spoke with someone at the apartment and confirmed marijuana had been smoked in the apartment.  

• 9 p.m. —  A caller reported a Gardiner bar patron had punched four holes in the wall in the bar’s hallway. Deputies spoke with the man at his residence and he was arrested for criminal mischief. While at the Park County Detention Center, police said the man was found to be in the possession of a pipe and was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. 


Oct. 29

• 8:04 a.m. — A Livingston caller reported he had received several harassing text messages from a person that he had a no-contact order with. The LPD is investigating. 

• 3:16 p.m. — A deputy stopped a red Toyota Camry for not having license plates. The driver was arrested for driving while his license was suspended.

• 6:20 p.m. — A Livingston caller reported there was a physical altercation between two juvenile siblings over a lanyard that had been cut. The caller reported the siblings had pushed each other, and the dispute ended up on the ground. A deputy spoke with the siblings and determined the incident did not escalate to the level of a partner or family member assault citation. The deputy also warned the siblings about the seriousness of a partner or family member assault charge. 

• 10:33 p.m. — A caller staying at a Paradise Valley resort reported someone had broken into their room and several items, including car keys and an iPad were missing. Deputies found the room’s window screen had been slashed and checked for fingerprints. The PCSO is investigating. 


Oct. 30

• 1:55 a.m. — An officer stopped a Livingston driver and conducted a driving under the influence investigation. The man was arrested for driving under the influence. 

• 12:50 p.m. — A Wilsall caller reported he and his son were hunting and had lost a 9mm gun from its holster. The PSCO is investigating the lost firearm and it has been entered into a law enforcement database.

• 3:24 p.m. — A Livingston caller reported his vehicle’s rearview mirror was broken off and the antenna broken, and that there are scratches on his vehicle. The caller said it happened sometime the night before. The LPD is investigating. 

• 6:21 p.m. — A caller reported a man was at a Livingston bar and that the man had already been told he wasn’t allowed on the property. The caller said the man had made sexual advance to a bartender in the past, and was rude and belligerent to employees. Officers gave the man a formal no-trespass notice and told him he was not allowed back on the property.


Oct. 31

• 12:42 a.m. — Elk hunters near Livingston called to report they were delayed when they shot an elk. The said they were leaving in the dark, and could not locate the road or see their cabin. As a deputy was responding, the hunters called back to say they had found the road and were OK. 

• 6:08 a.m. — A Livingston caller reported she had some items stolen out of her vehicle the night before. The LPD is investigating. 

• 8:12 a.m. — A Livingston caller reported their vehicle had been entered the night before and some items were stolen. The LPD is investigating. 

• 10:45 a.m. — A Livingston caller reported someone had entered their unlocked vehicle the night before and some items were stolen from the vehicle. The LPD is investigating. 

• 10:14 p.m. —  A Livingston caller reported that around five high school kids pushed him around and shoved him to the ground. Officers were unable to locate the youth. The LPD is investigating. 

• 10:23 p.m. — A Livingston caller reported a mother and daughter were yelling at each other next door. Officers spoke with the mother and daughter. Nothing criminal had occurred. The mother and daughter were separated.  


Nov. 1

• 9:42 a.m. — A person came into the police station to speak to an officer about being harassed by their neighbor. The LPD is investigating. 

• 5:20 p.m. — Montana Highway Patrol requested the assistance of a deputy while they closed a Paradise Valley road for a movie filming. A deputy helped direct traffic and the road was opened about nine minutes later.

• 7:03 p.m. — A Livingston caller reported an unknown person with an out-of-state phone number was threatening him, texting, “If you block me again I’m going to kill you.” The harassing text is part of an ongoing investigation by the PCSO. 

• 10:09 p.m. — A caller outside a Livingston bar reported several men were harassing and threatening the caller, who was setting up some traffic cones for a movie to be filmed the next day. The caller said he was thrown up against the wall of a building by four of the men. When officers arrived, one of the men ran from officers. The man who ran was cited for misdemeanor assault and obstructing a peace officer or other public servant.  


Nov. 2

• 8:22 a.m. — A Livingston caller reported some property was stolen from the back of a pickup truck the night before. The LPD is investigating.

• 10:54 a.m. — A Livingston caller reported some drug information to the PCSO. The information is part of an ongoing investigation, and the PCSO cannot disclose any further information.

• 12:04 a.m. — Deputies in Livingston conducting some follow-up investigations and spoke to a man on a motorcycle and a woman in the area. No illegal activity was taking place. 

• 1:19 p.m. — A Livingston caller reported they found a silver mountain bike, which was spray painted black, in their yard. The LPD picked up the bike and the bike is being held by the LPD.

• 2:17 p.m. — The Livingston School Resource Officer requested a complaint for a tobacco violation.


Nov. 3

• 9:41 a.m. — A person found some contraband on a Livingston property, which was then turned over to the Missouri River Drug Task Force. A MRDTF detective is investigating. 

• 3:02 p.m. — A Livingston hotel caller wanted to speak to an officers about a possible theft from an employee. The LPD is investigating. 

• 3:32 p.m. — Someone came into the police station to speak to an officer about a person they had a protection order against. The individual reported the person who they have a protection order against destroyed some of the individual’s property. The LPD is investigating. 

• 9:11 p.m. — A Livingston caller reported her ex-husband was supposed to drop some items off at her residence but that the ex-husband dropped the items off when she wasn’t expecting it. She just wanted the information on file with the PCSO.
