The Livingston Braves are taking one victory after another: After they emerged undefeated from the district tournament, they took Great Falls down in a high-scoring 13-0 smackdown Thursday night.

Head Coach Rich Spallone said Monday after the district tournament that the Braves “felt pretty good” going into the state tournament after remaining undefeated in the district tournament and thought they’d be “right up there” with some of the best teams at the tournament.

Six runs were scored in the fourth inning Thursday on a two-run homer by Buck Spallone, a three-run triple by Brock Peterson, and an RBI single by Sage McMinn. Peterson racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Braves.

The Great Falls lineup was no match for pitcher John Becker, who allowed no earned runs, walked two, and struck out seven during seven innings’ work. Great Falls managed one hit off Becker in seven innings.

The state tournament in Great Falls continues for the Braves with a game against Glacier at 4 p.m. Friday.

Rich Spallone said Friday morning the Braves were excited to beat Great Falls and to continue on in the tournament.
