Health Department will offer flu shots on Oct. 26

The Park County Public Health Department will offer flu shots to community members 4 years old and older on Wednesday, Oct. 26.

The shots will be given from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Shields Valley High School in Clyde Park and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Shields Valley Elementary School in Wilsall.

The vaccines are free of charge for children with no insurance, enrolled in Healthy Montana Kids and Medicaid. All children receiving flu shots must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

All private insurance will be billed. Please have your insurance card with you. 

Flu shots cost $25. For more information, call Park County Public Health Nursing at 406-222-4145.

 

Other upcoming events

• The Shields Valley Senior Citizens potluck dinner starts at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Senior Center in Wilsall. There will be special music and readings. Georgia Hogenson and Jean Skillman will report on the Governor’s Conference on Aging.

• The annual bazaar at Shields River Lutheran Church starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at the church in Wilsall. The Ringling 5 will perform a few numbers. Garth Isbell will be the auctioneer. Pie and coffee will be served following the auction. The proceeds from the bazaar will go to Otto and Deb Cornthwaite.

• The annual Shields Valley Senior Citizens Flea Market is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Senior Center on U.S. Highway 89 in Wilsall. To rent a table or for more information, call Jean Skillman at 578-2570. The Senior Citizens will be selling soup, chili, pie and coffee. There will also be vendor tables and the Senior Citizens table of miscellaneous items for sale. 

• A craft group meets at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Shields Valley Senior Center in Wilsall. 

• A 90th birthday party for Jimmy Sarrazin is planned for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Community Hall in Clyde Park. Help him celebrate as cake and coffee are served.

Winners of the Oct. 18 Senior Citizens card party were Jean Skillman, first; Jean Landers, second; and Georgia Hogenson, low.

 

School schedule:

• Oct. 20: There is no school.

• Oct. 21: The varsity football team plays Gardiner at 7 p.m. in Wilsall. It is Senior Night.             

• Oct. 24-28: This is Red Ribbon Week.
