Gibson, Rogge win matches at dual meet in Columbus

The Park High wrestling team traveled to Columbus yesterday to participate in the Columbus-Absarokee duals against Billings Central and Shepard High, where two wrestlers came away with victories.
Of Park’s five varsity wrestlers, Shane Gibson got a win in the 182-pound division, while Aden Rogge won in the 120-pound division. Going up against schools with full rosters, Park wasn’t likely to win in the team competition, but Park head coach Ben Hahn said he was pleased with the individual performances.
“We went up with five wrestlers, so obviously we won’t win the head-to-head there, but the kids we put out there wrestled well,” he said.
A noteworthy storyline from the JV side was Eric Baier winning the first career match in the 138-pound division.
Park will travel to Billings Thursday to take the mat versus Billings West.
