Gardiner girls get third win against Pirates, fall to Eagles

The Gardiner girls went 1-1 over the weekend, losing to the Manhattan Christian Eagles on Friday, 55-33, and beating the Broadview/Lavina Pirates on Saturday, 46-20. 
Megan Wickham led the Bruins in scoring against the Eagles with 11 points to go along with six rebounds, while Baily Fuhrmann and Brook Russell led the team in rebounds with 12 each. 
Russell had a big night against the Pirates on Saturday, notching a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds along with four steals and three assists. Josie Thomas added 11 points and 13 rebounds. 
The Bruins’ win against the Pirates was their third win of the season, and they will look to keep building on that total with a road game at Shields Valley Thursday.
