Multiple fire crews responded to Gardiner Tuesday evening for a fire that has damaged several businesses downtown.
Park County Sheriff Brad Bichler posted the following to Facebook Tuesday evening: "Folks, We are dealing with a terrible fire in Gardiner. Multiple fire crews and first responders are fighting this fire. If you can avoid the area please do so. Please keep all of those involved and this wonderful community in your thoughts and prayers."
Local photographer Brandi Nichols, an eyewitness, said the Two Bit Saloon, Rosi's Bistro, Rosie's Roost, Yellowstone Raft Co., and Red's Blue Goose have all been severely damaged in the fire.
Nichols estimated seven to nine fire trucks were on scene at 8 p.m. Tuesday. She said she noticed fire trucks responding to the fire at a little after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The fire is right downtown at the intersection of Park St. and U.S. 89, Nichols said.
"I can feel the heat and I'm probably 100 foot away easy, it's just a towering inferno," Nichols said.
