A few new twists for Livingston Farmers Market

The Livingston Farmers Market kicked off the summer season with a bang at Miles Park Wednesday night.

Market Master Rob Bankston said it was the biggest crowd of vendors and community members yet.

“I think it was a great success,” Bankston said.

Nearly 80 vendors sold items at the market, including some early season, miraculous produce.

“Usually at this time we just have starter plants, and we had a lot of starts out there, but I was so pleased that we had produce,” Bankston said.

Several prepared foods vendors sold out, and there was a new vendor with Cambodian food. The market also features a balloon tier this year, Bankston said.

Western Sustainability Exchange has been organizing the Farmers Market in Livingston for 13 years. The nonprofit will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a party at the Aug. 20 market.
