Farmers Market set for Monday

The Shields Valley Farmers Market starts at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at Holliday Park in Clyde Park. Special music for the evening is by Ian Thomas. For more information, call Monica at 686-4444.

 

School registration

Shields Valley Schools start Monday, Aug. 22. Students who have not registered may do so from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Monday, Aug. 8. High school and junior high students register at the school in Clyde Park, and kindergarten through sixth-grade students register at the school in Wilsall. All new students must provide a birth certificate and immunization record. Hot lunch and activity tickets may be purchased at this time. 

New students who need bus transportation may call Travis Baker at 578-2015.

 

Energy receipts

Northern Energy will give Shields Valley Schools up to $2,000 per year by simply collecting propane receipts. Submit your Northern Energy receipts at the school office in Wilsall or Clyde Park. The school may purchase anything necessary to improve or enhance the education process, such as computers, books, sporting equipment, band equipment, etc.

 

Worship and picnic

Rivers of Faith Parish worship and picnic — for Shields River, Redeemer and American Lutheran churches — will begin at 5:30 p.m. Sunday,  Aug. 31, at 14 Carol Lane in Livingston. There will be Evening Prayer and a hymn sing. Bring a chair, food to share, and plates and utensils.

There will be regular worship at the usual times at each of the churches in the morning.

 

Notice of death

Word has been received of the Dec. 23, 2015, death of former Wilsall and Park County resident Elsie Lusk Kelley, 95, in San Jose, California. Memorial services will start with a lunch at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Livingston American Legion and proceed to the veterans area of Mountain View Cemetery for military honors and internment. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, and son Larry. She is survived by son Danny, of California, and other family members. 

 

Cards

• The Clyde Park Bridge Club met July 20 at Clyde Park Tavern and Cafe, with Shirley Wilson as hostess. Prize winners were Ken DeBoer, high; and Penny Arnold, bingo.

• Wilsall Women’s Pinochle Club met Monday afternoon at the Shields Valley Senior Center. Prize winners were Linda Wilson, high; Betty Burdette, low; and Jean Landers, traveling.

• Winners of the July 26 Senior Citizens card party were Dorothy Lucas, first; Jean Skillman, second; and Betty Burdette, low.

 

Guests, visits

Vickie and Dave McAlister, of Canaan, New Hampshire, and Dennis and Jodi Wilson traveled to White Sulphur Springs Friday to visit Donna Sue and Fred Wilson.

Terri Gonce and daughter Abbie, of Pasadena, Maryland, have been here a couple weeks visiting her mother, Sue Pinkerton, and grandmother Bonnie Pinkerton. They also saw other family members and friends while in the area.
