Dolores Mae (Tecca) Van Orden, 86, of Livingston, most recently residing in Hardin with her daughter, died Dec. 10, 2019 in Hardin, Montana. Dolores was born on Nov. 24, 1933 in Livingston, Montana to Guy and Rose Tecca. She attended school in Livingston and graduated from Park High School in 1951.

She married her childhood sweetheart, the love of her life, Velferd Lee Van Orden, on April 11, 1953 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Their love brought two wonderful children into the world, Debra (Larry) Johnson and Timothy Van Orden.

Dolores’ calling in life was raising her children, doting over her loving husband and ... cleaning her house! Her home was truly her castle. She was meticulous and it’s been said, eating off her floor was cleaner than some people’s plates. Throughout her life Dolores worked at the Blair Motor Company and St. Mary’s Catholic church as a bookkeeper and as a Welcome Wagon Hostess.

Dolores loved the Lord and throughout her life she was his devoted and faithful servant. She was active in St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas where she served in the capacity of Regent for two years. She was also a member of Chapter AP PEO in Livingston, and Chapter L in Hardin, and their book club.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motor home, playing bridge, and spending time with her grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. To say she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, is an understatement.

On Dolores’ last day on earth, she got all dolled up. She painted her face and adorned her signature “bling.” She played bridge with her loving daughter and took the second highest score. She lived her best life.

She is survived by her two children and her sister, Gilda Pollock; grandchildren, Bethany (Chris) Fuchs, Aaron (Veronica) Johnson, Sarah (Jon) Snodgrass and Jennifer (Brandon) Schaff; great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Lucy Fuchs, Isabella, Cru, Trevin and Paxton Johnson, Lilly Schaff and Nora Snodgrass; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Thomas Tecca and sister, Juanita Wilson.
