The fourth annual Creek to Peak Mountain Soap Box Derby, presented by Creek To Peak Wear, begins with the “Outreach and Networking” event Friday, Jan. 3 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Buckhorn in Livingston.

The event offers team registration for the soapbox derby and a chance for interested participants to view some of the derby cars.

According to posts on the presenter’s Facebook page, “Creek To Peak Mountain Soap Box Derby,” the event features live music from Dan Henry and food from Kick Back Barbecue of Bozeman. There will be a raffle and some giveaways from Creek To Peak.

Organizers invite the public to “see some of the Mountain Soap Box Derby builds, sign up your team, ask questions and listen to some local music while drinking great local beer and spirits!”

Frank Gazella Jr., founder of Creek to Peak, said proceeds from the Calcutta auction are equally split with Links for Learning of Park County and the Creek to Peak Foundation, which “supports young athletes in pursuit of outdoor adventures and sports activities.”

Gazella said they’re capping the race at 40 team entries.

The derby is April 18, 2020, at Myers Lane in Livingston.
