LOL will no longer be just the most used phrase on your cellphone text screen — it will also help support those who have suffered from abuse.

“LOL” stands for Laugh Out Livingston, a comedy show happening Friday evening in support Aspen, a domestic and sexual abuse network located in Bozeman and Livingston.

Aspen Education and Outreach Coordinator Cody Howell said he thought this would be fitting for the population because it would be a fun night event.

“We wanted to do something where parents could drop their kids off then have a fun night out,” Howell said.

Local resident Rob Bankston will emcee the event while local comedians John Nickerson, Roerick Sweeny and others will put on a variety of acts.

The fundraiser will take place at the Buckhorn Theatre Friday evening, with the show starting at 8 p.m., but the doors will open shortly before the event so patrons can get drinks and get a picutre in the photo booth.

Tickets for Laugh Out Livingston may be purchased at the ASPEN offices at 320 N. Main St. in Livingston, before the show for $15 or at the door the night of the show for $20.

Event proceeds will go to support ASPEN’s violence prevention programs as well as survivors of sexual and domestic abuse. Laugh Out Livingston is sponsored in part by Opportunity Bank of Montana.
