Clyde Park woman launches mobile pet grooming business

From small Chihuahuas and large, fuzzy huskies, Brandy Morris will be there with her mobile pet grooming business, Blooming Tails.

Morris began grooming animals 26 years ago and until recently was working out of a typical brick and mortar location in Billings until she realized she was paying too much rent and she wanted to do something new.

After exploring different options last year, she decided to do a mobile pet grooming business with a trailer equipped with all of the pet grooming supplies needed to go anywhere.

Morris explained that mobile pet businesses are becoming more popular across the U.S., and are inspired by grooming trailers used at dog shows, which her own dogs have participated in.

She has found that being able to come to someone’s home to cut dogs’ fur is much easier than owners taking their animals somewhere they may not have been before.

“It is way easier for the dog because they can see their home,” Morris said.

Morris still offers many of the same grooming options that people expect but in an easy-to-move unit. The services include fur and nail trimming, bathing and teeth cleaning for both dog and cats.

Morris said dealing with cats can be very different from dogs, and she has not getting felines mad down to an art.

Her trailer does not have water hookups but is outfitted for heating in the winter and cooling in the summer.

“The trailer was originally from Arizona, so it is prepared for the heat,” she said.

There are also no crates for the animals because Morris said there isn’t the room or the need for it, since she is dealing with one only animal at a time.

Morris moved to the Clyde Park area in January and since has been offering services to Livingston residents, and some areas in the Paradise and Shields Valley. She also offers services in White Sulphur Springs and Red Lodge because she said the towns don’t have much in the way of pet grooming.

“These areas rely on me very heavily,” she said.
