Cub Scout sign-ups for Livingston are at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16 at Grace United Methodist Church, 302 S. Ninth St. This is a fun opportunity for scouts who are entering first through fifth grade. The total cost is $201 (that works out to just$16.00/ month), which includes membership, a Boys Life subscription, patches, book and full uniform for the year (shirt, belt, slide, scarf). The Blue Slipper Theatre will host a performance of “The Approach” on Sept. 17, 18 and 19. Tickets are available online only at the approach.brownpapertickets.com.

 

Livingston’s first Death Cafe will meet from 2-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19 at the Shane Lalani Center. Come join for coffee, tea and treats in a safe space to share experiences and ideas surrounding death, and how to make the most of life. The event is free and all are welcome.

 

Community Closet’s next grant deadline is Sept. 30. Apply online and learn more at communitycloset.org/funding. Grants are funded by thrift sale proceeds.

 

The Park County Health Department has a new COVID-19 September vaccination and testing schedule at various locations. The schedule will run every week of the month. Walk-ins are welcome, or the public can make an appointment at https://park-county-coronavirus-response-parkcounty.hub.arcgis.com/. 

The locations and times are: 

Livingston:

- COVID testing — Park County Fairgrounds, drive-through, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays.

- COVID vaccinations — 105 W. Lewis St. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays at 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m.

Clyde Park Rural Fire:

Mondays Sept. 6 and Sept. 20, 5-6 p.m.

Wilsall Fire: 

Sept. 13 and Sept. 27,  5-6 p.m.

Gardiner (Second and Main streets): 

Wednesdays, 2-4 p.m.

 

The Livingston-Park County Public Library no longer requires sign-ups for Books & Babies or Preschool Story Time. Additionally, during the summer, the Library will be offering Books & Babies on Wednesdays only, 10:30-10:50 a.m., and Preschool Story Time will be held on Thursdays, 10:30-11 a.m. There will be no programming on Fridays. Stafford Animal Shelter is seeking adult volunteer dog walkers from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Stop by the shelter at 3 Business Park Road in Livingston with a copy of your ID and your walking shoes.
