The July meeting for the Gardiner Resort Area District will be held at 7 p.m.  July 13 upstairs at the Gardiner Chamber office. For more information, www.gardinerresorttax.com. The public is encouraged to attend.

Bear Awareness Gardiner has 10 new bear-resistant garbage cans. If you need one, call (406) 595-2388. If you have one, make sure they are locked (with both locks, if they have two) whether they are empty or full. Bears learn the cans may smell like garbage, but don’t give out food and they will give them a pass. Harvest your apples every evening, put away garbage, dog food, bird seed, hummingbird feeders, or any other yummy-smelly things bear might eat. Learn how to use your bear spray, and whether in your yard at night, hunting or hiking, keep your bear spray on your belt. If you have a bear problem, contact Fish, Wildlife and Parks at (406) 994-4042.
