Brew events on tap for 2nd year

It’s back for a second year — Tap into Montana’s Craft Beer Week and Brew Fest.

Craft Beer Week will take place April 3-9, and Brew Fest will be held 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 9.

Last year’s inaugural event featured 12 beer-related events, 15 Montana breweries and over 350 Brew Fest attendees. Tap into Montana, now part of Vision Livingston, will have more events throughout the week and a bigger Brew Fest for its second annual celebration.

This year, the Brew Fest moves to the Park County Fairgrounds and will feature over 20 Montana breweries, including local favorites Katabatic Brewing and Neptune’s Brewery, in addition to several new Montana breweries, a Tap into Montana press release said.

New breweries at this year’s event include Bozeman’s Map Brewing, Missoula’s Great Burn Brewing and Libby’s Cabinet Mountain Brewing.

Attendees will get a chance to sample beers from the breweries, enjoy live music from Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs, and Tom Catmull’s Radio Static. Food will be available from Clyde Park’s Crazy Mountain Catering and Livingston’s Zac’s Montana BBQ.

VIP Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door (limited to 100 tickets), while regular tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

A VIP ticket includes early admittance for a chance to sample special release beers and talk with the breweries before general admission. VIP hour is 2-3 p.m. and regular Brew Fest hours are 3-7 p.m.

For those coming from out of town, discounted room rates are available at the Yellowstone Pioneer Lodge for $55 a night — just mention Tap into Montana, the release said.

Beer-related events will also take place throughout Livingston, including beer and cheese pairings at Uncorked, a stein holding competition at Katabatic Brewery, bison rocks and beer at Mustang Catering, a screening of the cult-classic film “Strangebrew” at Neptune’s Brewery, and the Beer Mile to name just a few.

Tap into Montana is funded in part by Livingston Business Improvement District and also received a Cultural Tourism grant from Yellowstone Country Montana.
