Anne Warner Burnham Moore

Anne Warner Burnham Moore, 94, passed away Oct. 4, 2015, peacefully at home in Big Timber. 

She is survived by her three children, Nancy Moore Thompson, of Mystic, Connecticut, Joan Moore Hammer, of Bozeman, and William B. Moore, Jr., of Big Timber. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Brown Moore, Sr., her daughter, Frances Lee Moore, and her two sisters, Marqrette Louise Burnham Brown and Phoebe Barber Burnham White, both of Princeton, New Jersey. She was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren: Ashley Foley, Jenifer Breezley, Reynolds Thompson, Bess Hammer, James Hammer, Jessie Moore, Sara Moore and William J. Moore and eight great-grandchildren. 

Anne B. Moore was born Dec. 15, 1920, in Hillsdale, New Jersey, to parents Anne Howard Edwards Burnham and Walter Henry Burnham and later lived in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She graduated in 1939 from Vail-Deane School in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and then attended Finch Jr. College in New York City, graduating in 1941.

Before moving to Big Timber, she lived on Packet Alley in New Castle, Delaware, for 55 years. Anne worked as a fashion model in the 1940s in New York City and continued her career in Wilmington, Delaware, through the 1950s. She was a dedicated volunteer for the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Delaware. Anne was passionate about tennis and spending time at the shore and in the mountains of Montana. 

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hearts and Hands Hospice and Home Health Frontier, of Bozeman, for their outstanding care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Big Timber. A memorial service will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church at a later date.
