Livingston’s Ace Hardware will host a night to celebrate the women in the community who want a night out and also enjoy fixing up their home.

On Tuesday, there will be a Ladies DIY Night Out at the hardware store with free massages, caramel tastings and a photo booth as well as demonstrations.

Ace Hardware Office Assistant Emily Olson said the company is doing the event to celebrate the women that shop there.

“Because it seems like these kind of places are always kind of a man thing,” Olson said, trying to emphasize that there are so many women that shop there too.

There will be four demonstrations by store associates, including staining furniture, benefits of a certain cloth product, information about the company 3M and what outdoor equipment to buy.

Olson said the outdoor equipment one is really important because it seems as though everyone struggles a little when they need a lawnmower or a snowblower.

“Clayton will help people find what they are looking for,” she said.

Olson said this event is the first of more community education series to come. There will also be a similar event for men in the coming months.

The event is from 6 to 8 p.m. at 1106 W. Park St.

It is free but people must register at www.eventbrite.com.
