4 virus deaths in state

HELENA (AP) — The state of Montana confirmed two more deaths due to the coronavirus on Monday.

The Toole County Health Department said two county residents have died. 

“Losing two more Montanans to COVID-19 is a blow to our statewide community,” Gov. Steve Bullock said in a statement. “Today’s news is a heartbreaking reminder to us all that we must continue to do everything we can to slow the spread of this disease. Montanans in every corner of our state are keeping the family and friends of these Montanans in our hearts.”

The earlier deaths were reported in Lincoln and Madison counties. 

Bullock said he’s aware of the positive tests among the senior community in Toole County and has been working to send additional resources to their health care system. 

Montana has 171 positive cases of COVID-19 as of Monday morning. Forty percent of the cases, 67, are in Gallatin County. None of those residents is hospitalized, the county health department said.
