Our grandchildren are going to be ecstatic with their Grammi. They loved Tillie the Taurus, which we got in 1992 for my ministry car. When they got to go along they begged to sit in the rear seat, which faced backwards! When her mileage reached 180K, we happily traded her for a newer Taurus wagon and eloquently named her Tillie II.

MAERA helpful for horses and humans

A horse sanctuary in Paradise Valley assists both horses and humans in education and wellness.

Sasha Squires who started MAERA or the Montana Awareness, Education and Equine Rehab Association, has been around horses all of her life.

Squires said her parents noticed that she was a colicky baby and one of the things that calmed her down was the time she spent with the horses.

Historian to give talk on NPS Centennial

A Yellowstone Historian is set to speak on Wednesday at the Livingston Depot Center about the history of the National Parks Service as the centennial approaches.

Historian Lee Whittlesey has been working with for Yellowstone National Park for the last 10 years but has been researching and writing on the subject for 40 years, according to Park County Historical Society news release.

Community grants given to nonprofits

Park County Community Foundation doled out their 2016 grants for the year for arts, education and senior care.

The 16 awards were given to non-profits around Park County, according to a PCCF news release. Over 40 nonprofits applied for the grants.

Well-known band Young Dubliners to make Pine Creek Lodge appearance

The Pine Creek Lodge that opened this spring is already seeing some big band names coming through the door, including the Celtic rock band Young Dubliners.

Started in 1988 in Los Angeles, the Young Dubliners had an interesting beginning. Vocalist Keith Roberts said the band began after his bandmates started jamming at Roberts’ bar and after a while were offered a record deal.

“The bar was a bit of fluke — it was really more of a stepping stone for us to get our names out there,” Roberts said.
