ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Matt Forte scored three touchdown runs and Ryan Fitzpatrick finally solved Rex Ryan’s defense, leading the New York Jets to a 37-31 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night.

Forte’s 3-yard run put New York ahead 27-24 with 2:12 left in the third quarter. He sealed the win by patiently waiting for a seam to open before scampering into the end zone from 12 yards to put New York up 37-24 with 4:02 left in the fourth quarter.

KHAR, Pakistan — A suicide bomber attacked a Sunni mosque in northwest Pakistan on Friday, killing at least 24 worshippers and wounding 28 others, officials said. Several children were also among those killed or wounded in the deadly attack.

Family: $1 million settlement for police killing teen

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — The family of a black teen who was shot and killed by a white police officer last year says the city of Portsmouth, Virginia, has agreed to pay a $1 million settlement.

Family spokesman Earl Lewis Jr. told The Associated Press on Friday that the teen’s mother has verbally agreed to the figure but believes her son’s life was worth far more.

Lewis says the family recently filed a notice of intent to sue the city.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The fatal police shooting of a 13-year-old Columbus boy who officers said pulled a BB gun from his waistband that looked like a real weapon will be investigated thoroughly, authorities said, to determine if charges are warranted.
 
In a killing with unavoidable echoes of the Tamir Rice case out of Cleveland, a Columbus officer responding to a report of a $10 armed robbery shot a young boy Wednesday night after he pulled out a BB gun that looked "practically identical" to the weapon that police officers use, authorities said.

Montana lawmakers push for tribal bison hunts inside Yellowstone Park

BILLINGS, Mont. — A Montana legislative committee says American Indian tribes should be allowed to hunt bison inside Yellowstone National Park.

Supporters say such hunts would better control herds of the animals that migrate into Montana during winter.

The Environmental Quality Council issued a letter on Thursday to Yellowstone Superintendent Dan Wenk asking him to honor hunting requests from tribes. Democrats on the council objected, saying no tribes have asked to hunt inside the park.
